In a landmark move poised to redefine the global nonwovens landscape, the Boards of INDA and EDANA have officially approved the creation of the Global Nonwoven Alliance (GNA). This collaborative entity, now formally underway, represents a new chapter of unity, innovation, and international cooperation for the nonwoven fabric sector.
Both INDA and EDANA have pledged full support as founding members, with each nominating six representatives to the Alliance's inaugural Board. The decision follows a strategic Letter of Intent signed in September 2024, and paves the way for the GNA to be registered as a non-profit under United States law.
The Alliance is not a merger, but a strategic union built on shared goals and mutual respect. It aims to synchronize efforts across continents, drive innovation, and address global challenges through a more coordinated and resilient industry approach. While INDA and EDANA will maintain their legal independence and regional focus, GNA will act as a unified platform for aligning leadership, developing joint initiatives, and offering broader member support.
GNA's vision includes opening Allied Membership to other non-profit associations in the future, creating an inclusive ecosystem that nurtures progress across the entire nonwovens value chain. Leaders from both organizations see the Alliance as a timely response to the need for stronger global collaboration. With enhanced transparency, aligned programs, and a collective voice, the GNA is set to chart a powerful course for the future of nonwoven industries worldwide.
