India Focuses Spotlight on Uttar Pradesh as Emerging Textile Powerhouse at Gartex Texprocess India

Uttar Pradesh has stepped confidently into the spotlight at Gartex Texprocess India 2025, presenting a compelling case for investors with its forward-looking textile policies and vibrant growth potential. Held in Mumbai from May 22 to May 24, the prestigious trade show has become the perfect platform for the state to unveil its vision of becoming a global textile manufacturing hub and a key driver in India’s journey toward a one trillion dollar economy.
Invest UP and the Directorate of Handloom and Textiles are leading the charge, showcasing Uttar Pradesh’s robust infrastructure, skilled workforce, and progressive textile policy. During the inauguration, Shashank Chaudhary, Additional CEO of Invest UP, underscored the state’s dynamic transformation under the leadership of Hon’ble Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. He shared how the government is blending tradition with innovation, turning age-old legacies like Banarasi silk and Lucknow chikankari into engines of modern textile growth.
A major highlight is the upcoming PM Mitra Mega Textile Park in Lucknow, a project expected to revolutionise manufacturing in the region. Alongside, the U.P. Textile and Garmenting Policy 2022 offers a bouquet of incentives for investors from financial support to single-window clearances making business setup easier and more attractive.
Distinguished guests, including Shri Sanjay Savkare, Hon’ble Minister of Textiles, Government of Maharashtra, graced the inaugural session. Presentations by Shri K.P. Verma, Joint Commissioner of Handloom and Textiles, and Shri Anuruddha Kshatriya from Invest UP further reinforced the state’s commitment to growth, innovation, and ease of doing business.
Throughout the three-day event, UP officials are engaging with global and domestic stakeholders, emphasising partnership opportunities and building investor confidence. With over 125 exhibitors and 300 brands in attendance, Uttar Pradesh’s presence reflects not just ambition but a solid roadmap toward becoming a national leader in the textile and garment industry.
