A major step toward circular fashion is unfolding as Loop Industries secures a multi year offtake agreement with Nike, positioning the global sportswear leader as a key customer for the upcoming Infinite Loop India manufacturing facility in Gujarat. Developed in partnership with Ester Industries, the plant is still under construction, yet the agreement already signal strong confidence in next generation textile recycling. At the core of this collaboration is Twist, a virgin quality circular polyester resin made entirely from textile waste, designed to reduce dependence on both virgin polyester and recycled PET flake across apparel product line.
Technology That Turn Waste Into Performance
The Infinite Loop India facility is expected to redefine how polyester is sourced for high performance apparel. Unlike conventional recycling routes, the process convert discarded textile directly back into premium polymer suitable for demanding application. The environmental promise is equally striking, with the plant projected to deliver deep emission reduction compared to fossil based polyester production. Key highlight of the technology include
• Textile to Textile Recycling without quality compromise
• Up to 81 percent reduction in greenhouse gas emission
• Annual saving of nearly 418,600 tons of carbon dioxide
This approach align sustainability goal with performance need, a balance long sought by global apparel brand. A defining feature of the partnership is full traceability. Every product made using Twist will be verified through proprietary chemical tracer technology, offering clear proof of textile to textile recycled content.
