Harrisons, one of the UK’s most established manufacturers of nonwoven wipes, has marked a historic milestone by launching fully in-house manufactured wet wipes for the first time in its 135-year history. The move represents a significant expansion of the company’s manufacturing capabilities and reinforces its long-standing commitment to British production. All newly launched wet wipes will be manufactured entirely in the UK, strengthening domestic capacity while meeting rising demand for reliable and sustainable hygiene solutions across professional markets.
The newly developed B2B wet wipe range expands both the Harrisons Industrial Range and Harrisons Hygiene Range and is designed to support key sectors of the economy, including foodservice, janitorial services, facilities management, industrial operations, aerospace, automotive, and printing. The product portfolio includes Surface Disinfectant Wipes for effective hard-surface cleaning, Probe Wipes for the safe disinfection of food-contact utensils, Hand Sanitising Wipes for quick and convenient hand hygiene, and heavy-duty Hand & Tool Wipes for removing oils, grease, paint, and industrial grime. Several products are available in plastic-free formats, underlining Harrisons’ focus on sustainability.
All wet wipes are rigorously tested in-house and independently audited to multiple relevant EN standards in a UKAS-accredited laboratory, ensuring consistent performance, compliance, and quality across applications. The launch follows Harrisons’ acquisition of Ecotech (Europe) Ltd, which added full wet wipe manufacturing capability and significantly increased production output. Across its two UK facilities, the company now operates with a total manufacturing capacity exceeding 100 million square metres of wipes per year.
Supporting the expanded product offering is Harrisons’ recent logistics upgrade, providing access to 8,000 pallet spaces within a BREEAM-certified sustainable warehouse. This enhancement strengthens supply reliability and allows the company to guarantee up to 12 weeks of stock availability for distributors. Commenting on the launch, Managing Director Stephen Harrison said the investment ensures customers receive the high quality, service, and expertise that Harrisons is known for, now backed by fully British-made wet wipes.
