Surat to Host 4-Day Embroidery Machinery Expo SITME 2026 from Jan 9

Surat is set to host the Surat International Textile & Machinery Expo (SITME 2026) from January 9 to January 12, 2026 at the Surat International Exhibition and Convention Centre (SIECC), Sarsana, marking a major gathering for the country’s textile and embroidery machinery sector. 

Organized jointly by the Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SGCCI) and the Surat Embroidery Association (SEA), the four-day expo has already drawn over 12,000 registered visitors from across India, with organizers expecting more than 25,000 attendees due to enthusiastic industry interest and high exhibitor participation. 

Event Highlights

  • Extended Duration Due to Demand:Originally planned as a three-day event, SITME 2026 has been expanded to four days to accommodate strong demand from exhibitors and visitors. 

  • Advanced Technology Showcase:The exhibition will feature the latest in embroidery and textile machinery including position embroidery machines capable of performing intricate designs, such as handwork and traditional khatli embroidery, through automated systems — a key draw for Textile manufacturers and designers. 

  • Live First-Time Demonstration:For the first time in India, a single-head embroidery machine that can replicate traditional Zardosi hand embroidery — a detailed and labor-intensive art form — will be demonstrated live at the expo, highlighting the convergence of heritage craft with modern machinery. 

  • New Product Launch:A specialized nylon thread tailored for embroidery beads machinery will be launched during the event, offering improved performance for beadwork applications, further expanding capabilities for textile artisans and manufacturers.

SITME has become a key platform for textile and machinery innovators to showcase breakthroughs, expand business networks, and explore partnerships that can drive future growth. The expo reinforces Surat’s reputation as a major hub of textile production and machinery innovation, contributing to both domestic industry growth and export potential.
